Summary:
Recruitment of research participants can be a challenge, particularly for clinical trials. This Webinar will highlight successful models of participant recruitment from two patient advocacy organizations. The TrialMatch program from the Alzheimer's Association has been very successful in recruiting participants and matching them to clinical trials related to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The Alpha-1 Foundation is representative of the rare disease perspective of developing and using patient registries for those interested in clinical trials. These two approaches are indicative of models used by many patient advocacy organizations involving other health and disease conditions. People become involved with these organizations because they trust them to represent their best interests and provide access to important research where they feel they can make a contribution as a participant. Webinar attendees will learn how to approach these types of organizations and partner with them to recruit participants and move forward significant and mutually beneficial research.
